The original factory assembly on the new "5.0" flows 748 CFM, while the new replacement upgrade from C&L flows 1,096 CFM in a "no tune" required configuration and 1,112 CFM with tuning required.

s testing, they have found that the factory air intake assembly for the 2011 GT (with the new "5.0" 4-valve engine) flows 748.7 CFM, which is a REDUCTION in airflow of approximately 50 CFM versus the factory 2010 GT air intake assembly, which flowed right at 800 CFM. This difference is due to the fact that the new vehicle now features a single round throttle body that is placed lower in the engine compartment. The new inlet tube (shown in the flow bench photo) is both smaller and has a different airflow path, which makes it more restrictive than the one that was used on the 2010 GT models. Please see the attached flow chart for a detailed graphical representation of these differences.
The V6 model now features a much more powerful 3.7L engine, which produces just over 300 HP - comparable in peak HP to the "old" V8 engine used in the 2005-2010 model GT vehicles. The factory air intake assembly for this vehicle retains the same "cold/fresh air" feature as the GT, but due to the fact that it has a throttle body that is ½" smaller in diameter than the new GT (along with a different air inlet tube and air box assembly), its flow capacity comes in at 685 CFM. For comparison purposes, the factory 2005-2009 GT air intake assembly flowed 550 CFM. By looking at the flow data, you will see that our existing 2010 GT air intake upgrades flow SUBSTANTIALLY more than the assemblies used on the 2011 GT and V6 vehicles. Although we have not yet finalized our inlet tube design for these new applications, testing has indicated that it is safe to say that our upgrades for both the GT "5.0" and the new V6 will flow somewhere between 45 to 50% MORE than the factory 2011 assemblies for each respective application. Given the fact that the 2011 GT produces over 100 MORE HP than the 2010 GT and its factory air intake assembly flows LESS than the one before it, we are certain that our upgrades will be quite beneficial for these vehicles.
